The NovoMic is a pediatric care device that transforms an anxiety‑provoking procedure into a calm, playful, and intuitive experience.
The project began after the client had developed the core technology and an early functional prototype. My task was to design the product’s external housings — transforming an engineering‑driven shell into a user‑centered design. Through refined and friendly proportions, soft geometry, and a single‑button interface, the new form brings warmth, clarity, and trust to a pediatric care device. The eye‑stickers allow children to personalize the unit, turning a medical procedure into a playful, empowering experience.
How It Works
Step 1: Take a single capsule and click it into the socket placed on top of the device, then close the cover.
Step 2: Place the cap on the head, making sure that the ears and hair are fully covered.
Step 3: Connect the tube between the NovoMic device and the headcap.
Step 4: Press start to begin the 10‑minute process!
